The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) announced grants on Thursday, October 19, 2017, that include funding for two programs of NeighborWorks Home Partners (NWHP). The grants designate $186,000 for the Facelift program that will be used to make repairs to owner-occupied homes in the Frogtown and Rondo neighborhoods, and $100,000 to be used as down payment assistance to encourage homeownership in Frogtown, Rondo, and the North End.
NWHP serves homeowners and homebuyers across the Twin Cities area, though these particular neighborhoods receive significant investment from the organization. This is due both to high demand for home improvement financing, and greater availability of affordable homes that meet the needs of first-time homebuyers.
MHFA’s grants totaled over $126 million throughout the state.
