MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – NeighborWorks Home Partners has partnered with the Northside Residents Redevelopment Council (NRRC) to launch revised programming for residents in the Near North and Willard-Hay neighborhoods. This renewed initiative provides low to zero-interest funding for home improvement and homebuyer assistance.
“We are excited to partner with NRRC to administer some forgivable funding to current and potential homeowners in the Near North and Willard-Hay areas of Minneapolis. This is a great opportunity for current homeowners to address needed repair issues, and for potential homeowners to get help purchasing their home,” said Casey Ware, Community Lending Manager at NeighborWorks Home Partners.
The homeownership program has four offerings: up to $20,000 in 1-4 Family Home Improvement Installment Loans; up to $5,000 in Senior Deferred Loans; up to $5,000 in Emergency Deferred Loans; and up to $10,000 in Homebuyer “Entry Cost” Assistance Deferred Loans.
Most permanent exterior and interior improvements are eligible, including remodeling, roofing, HVAC repair and replacement, accessibility improvements, health hazard removal and correction of code violations. Luxury projects and work initiated prior to the loan being approved and closed remain ineligible.
Residents can begin their application online by navigating to the Near North/Willard Hay Homeownership Programs page and clicking “Get Started.”
These funds were made available through the Minneapolis Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP), which is dedicated to empowering residents and mobilizing untapped resources to create a better future.
