The Role

NeighborWorks Home Partners is seeking a part-time Outreach & Education Assistant to join us for fall 2024 as a LISC AmeriCorps – Economic Mobility Corps member.

Under the supervision of the Office & Outreach Coordinator, the Outreach & Education Assistant supports both the advising and shared services team. This role will support the delivery of group education and outreach efforts of the organization, including tabling at community events. The Outreach & Education Assistant provides technical support for the delivery of in- person and virtual group education.

The Candidate

As a short-term, part-time role, this is a great opportunity for the local candidate to gain experience and exposure to a technology savvy non-profit organization, operating in the housing space. We are excited to train the right individual but looking for a few critical skills!

Required:

  • Customer focused, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Desired:

  • Previous experience with the Zoom (or similar) platform.
  • Passion for the mission of the organization.
  • Fluency in two or more languages (including English).

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • Some weekday office hours are available. Must be able to work nights and weekends, as necessary. Homebuyer education is scheduled exclusively on weekday nights and Saturdays. Outreach events are typically scheduled on weekends.
  • Ability to travel locally and transport outreach materials to events in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the assigned and essential functions.

Compensation

The stipend for this position is $20 per hour for 450 hours of work (approximately 25 – 30 hours per week, $9,000 total), concluding December 2024. Members will receive a prorated stipend twice a month and taxes are withheld. Additional benefits include Credit As An Asset and CDFI 101 certification and, upon successful completion of the program, a $1,824 education benefit to pay down qualifying student loan debt or to continue education.

This role is made possible through a partnership between Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), AmeriCorps, and NeighborWorks Home Partners.
