first-time homebuyers stand in front of their new home

Want to buy your first home? This is the place to start!

Are you thinking about buying a home? Or do you just want to find out if it’s the right step for you,?  NeighborWorks Home Partners’ Homebuyer Basics is a great place to get started. This free one-hour class for first-time homebuyers will help you understand the steps to take to become a homeowner. This is a low-pressure environment where all questions are welcome.

You’ll learn:

  • How to qualify for a mortgage
  • How your credit score affects the type of home loan that is available to you, and what to do to if your credit needs improvement
  • How to access the resources, like down payment assistance and personalized coaching, that make the journey better

You’ll also meet a NeighborWorks Homeownership Advisor and have a chance to ask questions and get answers. If you’re interested in taking the next steps, you’ll be offered the opportunity to schedule a personalized advising appointment.

Workshops are typically held on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:00 – 7:00 PM.  Watch for additional dates offered in partnership with other organizations.

Next workshop:

“Thank you so much for all of your help in the purchasing of my new home.  The LIFT Loan was such a blessing to me, and I enjoyed meeting with you.  I love what your organization is doing!  I’ve already told a handful of people about NeighborWorks!  I’ll continue to spread the word!” – Nicole
