Process Implementation and Evaluation Specialist, AmeriCorps VISTA

NeighborWorks Home Partners is a premier nonprofit homeownership center with resources to help people buy, fix, or keep their homes and be powerful and informed consumers. Our goal is to eliminate racial disparities in homeownership. We are hiring one AmeriCorps VISTA Associate to work in service delivery documentation to help more people learn about and access these services.

We are seeking a VISTA member to join our team to: learn how our homebuyers and homeowners access our resources with a focus on process improvement; propose and implement new processes to increase ease of accesses to our resources; and analyze data related to leads conversion and service line creation/closeout with a focus on demographics to draw conclusions whether new processes helped address the homeownership gap. You will be building upon our existing process documentation maps to capture new, future state processes to help monitor how our processes have changed over time to address the homeownership gap.

Our VISTA will serve with us for one year, from October 24, 2022 to October 23, 2023. If you are able to take on this challenge, you will be helping people access down payment assistance, homebuyer education, credit help, and home improvement funding. Many of our customers would not be able to achieve homeownership or make needed repairs to their homes without these resources. This is an experience that can make an impact not just for a lifetime but for generations to come.

VISTA members receive a living allowance of $675.08 bi-weekly and have a choice of the Segal Education Award ($6,495.00) or a cash stipend (approximately $1800) at the completion of service. We also provide a $400 monthly housing subsidy.

We are looking for candidates who want to engage with the community, learn about nonprofit operations, and develop their skills in improving customer access and delivering services.

Applicants must be:

  • U.S. citizens and at least 18 years of age
  • responsible, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple ongoing projects
  • able to work full-time with regular and timely attendance
  • excellent communicators

This includes: proposing and implementing changes to processes to address accessibility issues; analyzing demographic data to draw conclusions about how changes address the homeownership gap; and developing proposals to monitor demographic trends. Objective 1: Develop high level understanding of NWHP; our services to help folks buy, fix, and keep their homes; our process maps for how our customers journey through our programs with focus on degrees to which homebuyers and homeowners are successful in navigating our programming

Objective 2: Propose and implement new processes based on findings outlined in objective 1

Objective 3: Draft a proposal document to address how to monitor process improvement after VISTA term ends and create presentation of NWHP expanded capacity

Applications should be received by September 23 for priority consideration, but we will accept applications as late as October 7
